Recovery and requalification

 Progetto Pantano’s challenge  is to protect what still exist in the village, also recovering the memories’ value and the social value of the heritage that we have been passed on. This recovery needs productive integration,  reactivating some functions and creating new ones: a multifunctional process which creates new market opportunities related to the tourist area, to the social functions and to the environment as well. So specific competences interact in a multidisciplinary way, ranging from the agronomic to the geologic, architectural, and anthropologic .This leads to the emerging of new figures such as textile artists, gastronomists, sociologists and in general all those professionals who can  take part in a process of enhancement of the product and of the landscapes.

Our reflection is that the increased production of goods and of the productivity level have generated a new scarcity, that of time, which Pantano Project aims at recovering. The modernity paradox is in fact that scarcity of money means plenty of time and vice versa. Seneca wrote: “If you look well, part of our life slips away in doing the bad, most of it in doing nothing , all of it in doing something else from what we were meant to”.

 A path for new travelers

Whoever enters this place of peace, silence and sharing is ready to indulge the new dimension of the village: one where the rhythm is that of nature, the spirit can restore, the individual can get in touch with others in a warm, welcoming and convivial atmosphere. The village offers a spiritual dimension which  is its main value regardless of the single creed and which is enriched by differences. Being Pantano a rural site, its Church represents the village’s centre. It contains a picture showing the Madonna of the Graces embracing John the Baptist and Jesus  as playing children which well exemplifies the village’s philosophy.
